Food poisoning affects millions of Americans every year & is, unfortunately, more common than most people know. Food poisoning can happen anywhere; whether you are cooking at home or out to eat at a 5-star restaurant there is no telling when your food may be contaminated. First Call Medical Center is here to give you some knowledge on Food poisoning as well as give you some advice on how to stay away from some situations that may cause food poisoning.

Food poisoning happens relatively quickly from coming in contact with the infected food; to the symptoms that you may feel. Some symptoms that you may experience from food poisoning are:

  • Stomach cramps
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Weakness
  • Loss of Appetite
  • Fever

If you are feeling any of these symptoms the best thing you should do is get some rest & keep your body hydrated. If you are experiencing nausea & diarrhea it is possible you may be dehydrated. Food poisoning is not something that you should want to handle on your own. If possible go to First Call Medical Center for treatment.

Our Procedure

We can test for food poisoning at First Call Medical Center. To learn more about it check out the CDC’s helpful guide on food safety and food poisoning prevention.

The bacteria for food poisoning is transferred through heat, so if you feel a portion of food is not good & it has been cooked on a stove please stay away from all foods cooked on the same surface.
