Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
- Greets and Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone.

- Register new patients; review forms to ensure required fields are completed.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, insurance, and financial information.
- Collect patient charges upon check-in.

- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

Purpose:

The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative tasks under the direction of a physician, nurses, and other medical staff that may include scheduling appointments, managing provider schedules, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, collecting medical histories, and preparing patients for examination.
MAs are responsible for Point of Care testing including finger sticks, collection of urine, EKGs, PFTs (Pulmonary Function Test), etc. Other responsibilities required for the position include answering patient inquiries, portal messages, and phone calls, disinfecting, cleaning, and maintaining all exam rooms and work areas. Organizing and tracking all supplies both for clinical and administrative purposes.
